Call for Projects

The Open Call for Project Proposals opened on May 28, 2024 and will close on August 1, 2024 at 5PM.

Applications may be submitted to the Richfield Town Hall or by mail and must be received or postmarked by 5PM on August 1, 2024 to be considered. Interested project sponsors may access the application form on this page.

Hard copies of the application are also available at the Richfield Town Hall, the Richfield Springs Village Hall, the Richfield Springs Public Library and the Richfield Springs Community Food Cooperative.

Office Hours

The Town’s project consultant, Laberge Group, will hold in-person office hours on June 20th, July 10th, and July 11th to assist potential project sponsors with their applications. Additional technical assistance will be offered through virtual appointments. To schedule an appointment, email the consultant team by using the corresponding button.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Eligible applicants are those sponsored by a public, non-profit or private entity with legal authority to undertake the project

    • Public Improvement Projects

    • New Development/Rehabilitation of Downtown Buildings

    • Façade enhancements or small scale building renovations

    • Branding and Marketing for downtown

  • NYF Projects must:

    • Be located within the NYF Boundary

    • Be able to break ground within two years of receiving funding

    • Have financing largely in place

    • Must have site control or be in the process of obtaining site control

The Town of Richfield was selected by the Mohawk Valley Regional Economic Development Council to receive a $4.5 million award from New York State Governor Kathy Hochul through the NY Forward program. Investment from this program will allow Richfield to develop a Strategic Investment Plan (SIP) and implement key catalytic projects to advance the community’s vision for downtown improvements.
